C.A.T.: A Practice for the Space Between Feeling and Story

$ 0.00

- +

This gives readers a three-step way to catch a feeling before the mind turns it into a story: Curiosity, which pauses the rush to explain; Attention, which locates the feeling in the body before language takes over; and Tenderness, which lets the feeling complete instead of collapsing into self-judgment. Grounded in affect science and built for real moments- at a stoplight, after a hard conversation, in the space of three breaths- it includes both a slow guided practice for working through a specific moment and a quick reference for using the sequence on the spot. Part of the A.R.T. framework, it’s a pocket-sized tool for widening the small gap between feeling and meaning, so a person can respond to what they’re actually feeling instead of the story their mind wrote about it before they had a chance to notice.
